SSSCat, Training the cat to stay off the kitchen counter, funny cat video

No animals were harmed in the making of this film. My wife got frustrated with trying to keep the cat from jumping on the kitchen counter. She found a product called the SSSCat that is a close range motion detector that activates an air canister. Please note, we love out cat but this is a funny cat video non the less. Visit www.ssscat.com for more info.

Lol this is good. The cats jump on the counter when we’re not around, this would work for that I believe. They certainly know not to be on there while we are around, tho–zero tolerance! We see them up there, we yell very loudly, “NO! OFF THE COUNTER!” And sometimes we hit the counter to make our point. They scidaddle. And they know better now–if they’re up on that counter when we enter the room, they scram, and QUICK lol. Cats really are smart–but also mischievous.

I laughed so hard…I was just “adopted” by my first cat, and I’m trying to find ways to keep him away from the kitchen counters. Hilarious.

These products are much better if you put a nail into the valve. Please be careful when turning it on though, and always keep a towel and a shoebox to hand. A spade is also essential.

Nice one the cats are learning where to keep away !
The 3 month old kitten is too young to know about the danger or be scared like a normal cat would man.

Did this deterrent work good for you? I have a 3 month old kitten who just learned that he can jump on top of the stove/counters and now does it CONSTANTLY. I’ve tried double-sided tape, pennies in a can, spray bottles, nothing works!

HA HA HA!!!!!!! This is the best!! I’m going to get one RIGHT NOW from the pet store. It’ll deter my cat from spraying by my bedroom door.

I’m gonna have to look into getting one of those. My one cat still gets on the countertops, and he’s gotten stuff out of the cupboards, which is why I had to put safety latches on my overhead cupboards. Although I’ve tried a motion alarm before, and he still get up there despite setting it off each time. Gotta love them though.

My old cat had it down to a science. She’d make sure nobody was around, jump on the table and hang around until she heard steps on the stairs. You could hear the bump of her jumping off just before you opened the door and she’d be lounging somewhere all innnocent-like.

That, or carefully pulling stuff off the table without touching it if somebody was there.

She died two weeks ago. Rest in peace, old fleabag!
